Lloyd was first elected to the Council of the Municipality of the District of Guysborough in 1988 and elected Warden by fellow Councillors in 1997 and again following the 2000, 2004 and 2008 municipal elections.

Warden Hines is a graduate of Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and has studied at the University College of Cape Breton, Saint Mary's University at Halifax and the Universite De Moncton in Moncton, New Brunswick. He has been in private business in the Shire Town of Guysborough since 1979.

Lloyd has served on many Boards and Volunteer organizations over the years and was elected to the first consolidated Guysborough County District School Board where he served from 1982 to 1986. He currently serves as Chair of the Milford Haven Home for Special Care management board and Vice Chair of the Guysborough County Regional Development Authority. He was elected as a Nova Scotia representative to the National Board of Directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in 2002 and Chaired that organization's Standing Committee on Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development. He was elected as chair of the Rural Caucus of the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities in 2004, Vice President/Secretary Treasurer of that organization in October 2007 and President in September 2008. He also served as Founding Chair of the Property Valuation Services Corporation, a Municipally governed Company charged with the delivery of the property assessment service to Nova Scotia

Lloyd resides in the Shire Town of Guysborough with his wife Patricia and their four children.

First elected in 2004, Sheila Pelly is Councillor for District Two which includes the communities of Lincolnville, Sunnyville and Upper Big Tracadie.

Sheila’s educational background includes certification from St. Francis Xavier University in Human Relations. Sheila’s work history has centered in the human resources field, as she worked at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital as the Human Resources Coordinator for over twenty years. Over the last three years, Sheila has worked closer to home with the Antigonish/Guysborough Black Development Association as an Employment Officer. This position allowed Sheila to work with local African Nova Scotians to build their job readiness and job search skills.

Sheila’s volunteer work in the community has been extensive. Positions have included Chair of the Lincolnville Commission Development Association and Board Member of the Regional Development Authority. All of these past experiences have prepared Sheila well for the challenge of being a Councillor for District Two.

Councillor Blair George has served as Councillor for District #4, which encompasses Cooks Cove to Whitehead and all communities in between, since 1988. Blair has served on numerous committees of Council, including the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, of which he has been a board member for sixteen years.

Blair’s service to the community has reached beyond just Council, including service on the Chedabucto Volunteer Fire Department for over fifteen years, Treasurer for the local Church and volunteer for the Canso and Area Minor Hockey Association. Blair resides in Halfway Cove and works for the Department of Transportation and Public Works.

Councillor Bradley MacLeod represents District Seven, which encompasses Coddles Harbour to Cross Roads Country Harbour. Bradley is a long time resident of Country Harbour, where he resides with his wife Mary, and his four young daughters. Bradley has owned and operated his own construction company which is based out of Country Harbour since 1992.

Bradley was compelled to run for Councillor in 2004 after being involved in the community for many years. Bradley has served as President of the Guysborough County Truckers Association, Secretary for the 1392 Brotherhood of Carpenters Union and has been involved in numerous other local volunteer organizations. Always having a keen interest in politics, Bradley looks forward to serving the residents of District Seven.
