Serene Forest, Abundant Fauna
Our lakes, streams and rivers teem with trout and bass. The forests are home to bear, deer and a vast array of smaller wildlife. The undisturbed flora is unique to the region.
Communities with Character
The shiretown of Guysborough is one of the most picturesque communities in the province, home to a perfect harbour. At our northeastern tip sits Canso, a community steeped in 400-years of history. Canso is home to the popular summer songwriters’ festival, the Stan Rogers Folk Festival. Further inland are the magnificent rolling hills and scenic views of Country Harbour. Scattered along the rural routes that connect these communities are historical fishing, forestry and mining villages, each with its own unique story to tell.
