The Municipality of the District of Guysborough is seeking to fill the position of Finance Officer. This is a one year term position. The position commences November 2nd and the normal working hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with additional evening and weekend meeting work as required (35 hours per week). Education will preferably be a University degree in Business or Commerce (specialization in accounting considered an asset) and the applicant should have 3 to 5 years of accounting related experience in a municipal environment. The salary range for this position is $45,544 - $56,930 commensurate with education/experience.
The Finance Officer’s responsibilities will include assisting with the day to day management of the financial affairs of the Municipality, including payroll, cash management, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, assessment, tax billing and tax collection. The Finance Officer will have a thorough knowledge of accounting theory &, principles, audit theory & practices, internal control procedures & accounting procedures & systems.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR CHILDREN and YOUTH (PACY) ADULT SUPERVISOR CASUAL PART-TIME POSITION
The Municipality of the District of Guysborough has an immediate opening for one (1) casual part-time PACY Adult Supervisor at Chedabucto Education Centre. The successful candidate will be required to work 3 to 4 days/evenings per week in the after school time period.
The PACY Adult Supervisor will be responsible to the Recreation Programmer, Physical Activity Coordinator and will maintain liaison with the Municipal Recreation Director, the School Board Administration and the custodial staff at Chedabucto Education Centre. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal directly with the public. Candidates must work well with children.
General responsibilities include overseeing the safety of the children, organizing and implementing age-appropriate games and activities, maintaining order and discipline, and supervising student leaders.
Applicants must have High School Diploma. Post-secondary education would be considered an asset. A current First Aid/CPR Certificate would also be considered an asset. The successful candidate must complete a Criminal Police check as well as a Child Abuse Registry check.
